Service to Veterans:
We offered monthly equine assisted groups for veterans and their family members to assist with deployment separation, PTSD, addictions, grief and loss, returning home adjustment issues, relationship problems, and other service related difficulties. Professional Psychotherapy Services
In a quiet private professional office setting, therapy was provided with specialty areas of expertise in helping adult and adolescent survivors of incest and sexual abuse, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addictions, codependency, recovery issues, challenging adolescents and family systems, adolescent life-cycle issues, family of origin issues, and stress management. Counseling practice areas also included anxiety, depression, grief and loss, eating disorders, couples
, issues, family and executive interventions, as well as personal growth and life coaching.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine Assisted Learning, Community Seminars, Weekend Intensive Workshops & Retreats, Consultation and Training for Professionals were also offered. Read more below.
Equine Assisted Services
Sometimes talk therapy is just not enough. We offered horse therapy as an option for those times. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an alternative type of therapy offered adjunctively to clients already involved in therapy in the office. Clients often progress rapidly with EAP and are able to move through areas where they were previously stuck in traditional counseling.
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) was also available to individuals, families, couples, and groups seeking personal growth as well as to corporate and private groups needing leadership and development training.
Community Seminars
Seminars for personal growth were sometimes offered to the general public either in a 2-3 hour evening format or sometimes in an all day event. Topics included stress management, wellness, empowerment, parenting adolescents, strengthening relationships, and equine assisted learning events with various self-help themes.
Weekend Intensive Workshops & Retreats
Occasional Weekend Intensive Workshops and Retreats were offered for specific adult client populations, including codependents, adult children of dysfunctional families, incest/sexual abuse survivors, couples, and clients in recovery from addictions or eating disorders. The format was typically intensive small group therapy that allowed for healing specific issues associated with various unresolved traumas, or with recovery and relationship issues. Sometimes equine assisted therapy was also provided at the retreats.
